Kuwait Architecture

This week our students learned about the style of architecture in Kuwait! Students learned how to add design elements to an environment that create the suggestion that a building is "Kuwaiti" in style. In this case we focused on the door frames, the lines of nails in the center doors and the beams just under the roofs of the buildings.

Students were challenged to add their own embellishments and holiday detail to create more interesting compositions.

Sometimes, learning to draw and paint involves a certain level of chemistry. Several drawing and painting media were used to create the effect in our project, and each had very different properties. We learned which medium to use in a specific order, and that some can be mixed and some cannot.

Some of the kids took a courageous leap and make two doors instead of one, add people and animal characters, and even changed the view inside to reflect a more imaginary scene.
